How Repairs Work

When technology fails, it is not always obvious what has actually gone wrong. Our repair process is designed to identify the fault properly, explain what we find and give you clear options before additional work is carried out.

Whether you bring us a laptop, MacBook, gaming console, storage device or another piece of technology, the same principle applies: diagnose first, communicate clearly and repair only with your approval.

Our Repair Process

01 — Book or Bring It In

Tell us what the device is doing, when the problem started and anything that happened before the fault appeared. Bring the charger or relevant accessories where they may be part of the problem.

02 — Check-In & Initial Inspection

We record the reported fault, supplied accessories and the general condition of the device before assessment begins.

03 — Assessment & Diagnosis

We inspect and test the device to determine the underlying fault. Depending on the problem, this may include software diagnostics, disassembly, electrical testing or component-level investigation.

04 — Findings & Repair Options

We explain what we found, what we recommend and the expected repair cost. If there are different options, we explain those too.

05 — Approval, Repair & Parts

Additional chargeable work is not carried out without approval. Once authorised, required parts are allocated or ordered and the repair is completed.

06 — Testing & Collection

We test the repaired device against the original fault and relevant functions before notifying you that it is ready for collection.

What Does the Assessment Fee Cover?

Approval & Unexpected Findings

Symptoms do not always reveal the entire fault. Sometimes additional damage or a secondary problem becomes apparent only after a device is opened or testing progresses.

If this changes the agreed repair or cost, we stop and contact you before carrying out additional chargeable work.

Parts & Special Orders

Some repairs require parts that are not held in workshop stock. Where parts need to be ordered specifically for your repair, we will explain the expected cost and availability before ordering.

Special-order parts may require payment before the order is placed. Delivery times are controlled by suppliers and freight providers, so we will keep you informed if shipping affects the repair timeline.
